Residential Cold Weather Disconnection Moratorium Ending

Manitowoc Public Utilities would like to advise customers who are behind on their utility bills that the moratorium for disconnection of residential service ends on April 15th. Customers with past due balances could face disconnection of their utility service unless payments are made to clear the past due amounts or payment arrangements are established, if eligible.

MPU Supports Right of First Refusal Bill

A revised transmission “Right of First Refusal” (ROFR) bill was introduced in the Wisconsin legislature last week. A version of this bill was considered by lawmakers in the last session, but was never presented for a vote by the State Senate. MPU, along with many other municipal utilities, cooperatives, and IOUs, supports this bill because of the multiple benefits it brings to our customers.

MPU’s Community Solar Garden Now Live!

Manitowoc Public Utilities (MPU) is thrilled to announce that our Community Solar Garden is now live! MPU, in conjunction with a developer, built a 1,500 KW community solar generation facility on Hecker Road just south of Viebahn Street. After many months of construction, the developer commissioned the solar garden inverters, and the solar panels began to produce energy the morning of December 10, 2024.
