Community Solar Program

MPU is rolling out a new community solar program where our electric customers will have the opportunity to purchase solar panel generation from a solar garden in Manitowoc. This facility is being built off Hecker Road, just south of Viebahn Street, at an old gravel pit site. Customers will have the ability to purchase solar energy with no upfront investment, unlike traditional rooftop solar installs.

POWER OUTAGES – 8.4.2023 UPDATE

Manitowoc Public Utilities (MPU) crews worked through the night clearing trees from power lines and customer service drops, replacing poles and transformers, and rebuilding the electric distribution system throughout multiple locations in the City.
