Manitowoc Public Utilities is seeking candidates for the following full-time position(s):

CONSERVATION AND EFFICIENCY COORDINATOR

The Conservation and Efficiency Coordinator is responsible for developing and promoting Utility sponsored energy and water conservation and efficiency programs, serve as a primary point of outreach for these programs, analyze and conduct onsite energy performance audits, field customer comments and questions regarding energy use and bill calculations, and determine cost-effectiveness of various energy conservation programs and techniques for the customer and the utility. At a minimum, applicants must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (electrical preferred) from an accredited college, or a Certified Energy Manager certificate from the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE).

MECHANICAL ENGINEER

The Mechanical Engineer provides professional engineering work in connection with the design, construction, maintenance, and operation of steam power generation facilities, water treatment plant facilities, and electric distribution facilities. Minimum requirements to apply include Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college; progressively responsible experience in professional engineering work; or any equivalent combination of experience or training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities; possession of a license to practice as a Registered Professional Engineer recognized by the State of Wisconsin Department of Regulation and Licensing or ability to obtain within one year is preferred.

POWER PRODUCTION MANAGER

MPU is accepting curriculum vitae for the Power Production Manager. The position reports to the Senior Manager Utility Operations and manages individuals in the power production and maintenance departments of the Power Plant. The applicant must have comprehensive knowledge of the principles of mechanical and electrical engineering as applies to electric power production; thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of power plant administration; thorough knowledge of management principles and techniques with the ability to manage the operation of the power plant economically and efficiently to attain desired results; ability to plan and direct various maintenance and engineering operations of the plant; and good professional judgment. A Wisconsin Profession Engineer license and Bachelor’s degree with major studies in electrical or mechanical engineering are required, supplemented by advanced degree work in engineering administration or business administration are preferred. Extensive experience in power production, as well as, supervisory/management experience are required. This position is required to participate in the on-call rotation and adhere to the residency requirement. This position will also serve as an internal consultant on special team project.

IT MANAGER

The IT Manager develops, recommends, and implements the Information Systems policies and procedures and organizes, directs, and administers the IT resources to meet the strategic and operational goals of MPU. Examples of work for this position include developing and overseeing the annual IT budget, overall department operation including the assignment of work on a daily basis, directing IT related installations and training programs, recommending hardware, software, database and network facilities, directing the network and cyber security efforts of MPU, and recommending enhancements to improve/increase efficiencies. Valid Wisconsin driver’s license required. At a minimum, applicants must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in an IT-related field from an accredited college and six years of progressively responsible experience in system analysis, computer programming, network administration, and project leadership roles including three years of supervisory management responsibility.
