Manitowoc Public Utilities is seeking candidates for the following full-time positions:

ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER

This Environmental Engineer provides professional engineering services to ensure regulatory compliant electric and water utility operations and maintenance. This position interprets regulations and permits, organizes and executes action plans, creates budgets and schedules, and employs contractors, consultants, utility employees, and equipment to ensure environmental and other regulatory compliance programs for MPU. Minimum requirements to apply include Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university; a minimum of five years' experiance in a power generating facility or related field; possession of a Wisconsin Professional Engineer License, or ability to acquire upon request; experience with environmental compliance testing, permitting, CEMS and reporting, knowledge of application and enforcement of state and federal regulations.

JOURNEYMAN LINE TECHNICIAN

The Journeyman Line Technician requires skills in constructing and maintaining electric power facilities up to 69 kilovolts. A complete understanding of all safety practices and procedures of high voltage electric work is necessary. Minimum requirements to apply include Journeyman Lineman certification with a Certificate of Apprenticeship in Electric Line Trade and minimum five years of journeyman experience. A two-year degree in a related field of study is preferred but will consider the right candidate with equivalent training and experience.

POWER PLANT MECHANIC

This Mechanic position involves duties related to the maintenance and repair of Power Plant and Water Utility machinery. The person in this position will, at times, direct the work of others, and may be required to direct major projects or outages with minimal direct supervision. Requirements for this position include positive work habits, demonstration of leadership qualities and good judgment, good physical condition, and the desire to progress. Required knowledge, skills and abilities include: strong mechanical aptitude along with a thorough knowledge of the mechanical maintenance, installation, operation and repair procedures of mechanical equipment. A minimum of five (5) years of experience is desired. A two-year college degree in the mechanical maintenance field is preferred. A maintenance mechanic journeyman status or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required skills and abilities may be considered.
