Manitowoc Public Utilities is seeking candidates for the following full-time position(s):

WATER SYSTEM OPERATOR

The Water System Operator position primarily involves duties that include the control, operation, and maintenance of the state-of-the-art Microfiltration Water Treatment Plant and related production facilities, and maintenance and repair of the water distribution system and related facilities. Working hours are primarily first shift, with occasional second shift and weekend work. Minimum requirements to apply include completion of a two-year associate degree supplemented by technical school courses in the water field. The possession of a WDNR Operator Certification in Groundwater, Distribution, or a Subclass S Surface Water certification from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is preferred. Valid Wisconsin driver’s license required.

ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

The Electrical Engineer duties includes design engineering to accomplish assigned projects, develop written installation, testing, maintenance and operating procedures for equipment and conduct training, specify equipment and services, support the O&M staff in solving long and short term problems, and prepares periodic reports, management and customer presentations. At a minimum, applicants must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college and the successful completion of the Engineer-In-Training (EIT) exam.

MECHANICAL ENGINEER

The Mechanical Engineer provides professional engineering work in connection with the design, construction, maintenance, and operation of steam power generation facilities, water treatment plant facilities, and electric distribution facilities. Minimum requirements to apply include Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college and the successful completion of the Engineer-In-Training (EIT) exam (time may be allowed for recent graduates to complete the exam). Preferences: progressively responsible experience in professional engineering work; or any equivalent combination of experience or training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities; possession of a license to practice as a Registered Professional Engineer recognized by the State of Wisconsin Department of Regulation and Licensing or ability to obtain within one year.
