Manitowoc Public Utilities
recently released its Consumer Confidence Report for the calendar year
2002. The report, mandated by the
Environmental Protection Agency’s Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), details MPU’s
water sources, the results of ongoing water tests, and how those tests compared
to regulatory standards.
In 2002, MPU delivered nearly 3.1 billion gallons
of water to customers in the City of Manitowoc. The Utility tested for over 50 different organic and inorganic
contaminants and did not detect levels exceeding federal water quality
standards.
