Accident Causes Power Outage

A car accident near the intersection of S. 10 and Marshall Streets caused a power outage to approximately 500 customers in the downtown area just before noon Thursday. The affected area included businesses and residences north of Marshall Street between S. 8^th and S. 14^th Streets. Customers to the south of the affected area had power interrupted briefly to aid in restoration efforts.

MPU crews were able to reroute circuits to restore service to most customers 12:10 PM. Electric service was restored to all customers by 1:45 PM.
