About Us

The Manitowoc water tower

Manitowoc Public Utilities (MPU) is a municipality-owned electric and water utility serving approximately 17,800 accounts in the City of Manitowoc, Wisconsin. The Utility employs approximately 110 full time employees.

The Utility is directed by a General Manager, who in turn reports to the Public Utility Commission. This Commission is comprised of seven members:

– The Mayor of Manitowoc

– A member of the Finance Committee

– And five appointed citizens
